Round Hill Pines Beach Resort has been selected to host the 2024 Lake Tahoe Summit on Aug. 14 in coordination with Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto.

Access will be limited that day to those who registered for the summit, which could wrap up as early as 12:30 p.m., according to the U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit Registration is currently open to the general public and will close this week.

The beach will be closed 5-9 a.m. and most of the resort, including the general forest areas until 2 p.m.

The beach will be accessible to those registered for the Tahoe Summit after 9 a.m. While general forest areas will be closed, the areas not covered by the closure order include the bike path, road, and parking area for use by members of the public, who registered for the event, as they arrive. This year’s theme is “Connecting Tahoe: Investing in Transit, Trails, and Technology for the Future.”

“We are excited to host the Tahoe Summit on National Forest land this year, an incredible opportunity to highlight the great work being done to protect Lake Tahoe across two states, with the Washoe Tribe as well as an array of local, state, federal, and private partners,” said Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit Forest Supervisor Erick Walker

No onsite parking will be permitted for the general public as on-site parking is limited to those with permits the day of the Tahoe Summit. The Forest Service encourages the use of public transportation or the complimentary shuttle service. The Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition will provide a complimentary bike valet for those who choose to ride.

The event will be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person. For more information, visit the 2024 Lake Tahoe Summit event page or contact Cortez Masto’s office at 775-686-5750. For reasonable accommodation requests, contact Caitlin Meyer at cmeyer@tahoefund.org.
