Carson Valley AYSO soccer region 318 has invited he Big Brother Big Sister Rennervation bus to join in on the opening day festivities for the fall season Saturday at Ranchos Aspen Park.

The first games will start at 8:30 a.m. and are expected to continue to 12:30 p.m.

“Fall is our big season and we have been trying to bring in some fun stuff to make activities more eventful,” said Tami Anderson, regional commissioner.

The Rennervation Bus has a plethora of fun activities ranging from a basketball hoop, a soccer goal, a 3D printer and arts and crafts.

“Just basically to hang out and be a companion, mentor and friend,” said Anderson of the Big Brother Big Sister program. “They want to bring back because they see a need in rural communities and Douglas County is certainly one they want to reinvest in. … It’s a great outreach tool that they now have.”

Gonuts 4 Donuts also will join in on the festivities.

This fall, Anderson said there are 450 recreation players and another 45 players competing on an external level in a club circuit.

Ages range from three-year-olds up through 13-year-olds in the rec league while the competitive league will have players from age 10 through 13.

There are 140 volunteers, helping make the fall season a possibility between coaches, referees and field maintenance.
