The Carson Valley Women’s Golf Club held a Poker Run the first week of August in celebration of Hot August Nights.
The women played a scramble with 10 teams competing for the prize fund.
The first-place team consisted of Phyllis Adair, Club President Judy Brooke and Club Treasurer Debbie Steele.
The second-place team included Suze Ericson, Club Secretary Lorna Johnston and Nora Stevens. Coming in on their heels in third place was the team of Joni Becksted, Debbie Knapp, Anne Marie Neacy, and Ursula McManus. In fourth place was Michele Cline, Jan Lieberman, and Kristi McAteer. And coming in fifth place was the team of Dianne Ford, Margie Stephens, and Vickie Rutledge.
For the Poker Run, they played five-card draw.
Each player received one playing card at check-in and then six additional cards scattered throughout the golf course giving them a total of seven cards with two discards for their final poker hand. The winning hand went to Debi Lang who had a flush. Second place winner was Elise Smith with an ace-high full house, and the third-place winner was Joan Sciarini with a queen-high full house.
Club officials congratulated the winners.
