Prison inmate admits additional burglary

A Reno man serving up to 18 years in prison faces an additional decade in prison on a burglary charge. 

Charles F. Timms, 45, admitted Monday to burglary of a business. 

Timms was arrested April 2 in Gardnerville after he broke into a home and stole a small safe and a jewelry box and it’s context. 

Sentencing is set for Oct. 7. 

• A man arrested for a third driving under the influence faces up to 16 years in prison for possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine. 

Gerard Matthew Luisi, 49, admitted Monday to three offenses, including driving under the influence, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and possession of methamphetamine. 

Luis was arrested June 27, on Glenbrook Road at Lake Tahoe. 

According to court documents, Luisi has previous DUIs in 2016 and 2017. He was granted probation in January 2016. 

Sentencing is set for Oct. 7.

• A warrant was issued for a woman who failed to appear in court for the third time Monday. 

The warrant was ordered for Jacqueline Joelle Burns in the amount of $5,000 and extradited across Nevada and California. 

According to court documents she was ordered to show for a review hearing on July 15 and failed to appear. The case was rescheduled to Aug. 19, which she failed to appear again.
