One person was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center after a head-on collision at Highway 395 and Industrial Way at 7:10 a.m.

The collision occurred around 7:10 a.m. near the Gardnerville Post Office and reportedly involved a white Mazda and a silver Lexus.

The other driver declined transport, according to East Fork Fire personnel on scene. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Nevada State Police responded to the collision.

The two vehicles ended up on opposite sides of the highway with the Lexus sitting west of the highway in the verge and the Mazda on the east side.

There were some slow-downs there law enforcement investigates. Tow trucks were on scene to clear the wreckage. The northbound lanes of the highway are now clear.

It was the second collision in southern Gardnerville in 40 minutes this morning. The Nevada Highway Patrol's roadhazards.nv.gov site reported a noninjury collision at Highway 395 and Virginia Ranch Road near Carson Valley Health at 6:30 a.m.
