Genoa, Nev. — Rescuers had a busy Monday night just south of Minden-Gardnerville with a report of a structure fire and a traffic collision 10 minutes apart and almost within sight of one another near Waterloo Lane. The fire call was at 8:40 p.m. and the collision was at 8:50 p.m. at the intersection with Centerville.

Gardnerville Town Board members meet 4:30 p.m. today to discuss the final resolution of a trash rate hike they’ve been working on for the past few months. It’s also the final meeting for board members Lloyd Higuera and Mary Wenner.

There’s a freezing fog advisory across the Western Nevada valleys. I’m not seeing any in Carson Valley this morning, but there’s a chance you might encounter some if your travels take you further north.
Today’s forecast is for mostly sunny skies and a high near 52 degrees. It doesn’t appear there will be any wind to blow the smoke and haze out of the valleys today.
