A celebration of the Douglas County Community and Senior Center’s first decade is noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 14 in Gardnerville.

Themed "Community Meets Art," the event will include live entertainment by The Cripple Creek Band, along with musical performances from local artists. Live music begins at 2 p.m. with Miki Rae and The Cripple Creek Band will start at 4 p.m.

The event will feature an open house, expo and art show, carriage rides, bounce houses and other art activities.

The event will also include a silent auction to support the Douglas County Community Services Foundation.

Food trucks and an outdoor bar will be open during the afternoon.

“This milestone celebrates a decade of connection, creativity, and service in Douglas County,” said Douglas County Recreation Supervisor Scott Doerr. “It’s a chance to honor our achievements, showcase the incredible talent and unity of our community, and look forward to an even brighter future together.”

The event is made possible through partnerships with The Carson Valley Arts Council, Core Construction, Douglas County Community Services Department, and the Douglas County Community Services Foundation.

The Douglas County Community Services Foundation will host the silent auction, with proceeds benefiting the community centers, youth memberships, and capital improvement projects that support community initiatives.
