SENATOR GIRLS BEST DAYTON IN OPENER

The Carson High girls basketball team is 1-0 to start the winter after defeating Dayton in Dayton on Tuesday, 60-12.

“I think we were a little jittery to start,” said first-year head coach Sam Golden. “Once we got past the jitters … I think we had some good runs.”

Golden thought the Senators’ defense was a big part of the win.

“I think a huge identity piece for us will be our defense this year,” Golden said. “It was nice to see that all the points didn’t come from one person.”

Individual stats were not available.

UP NEXT: Carson (1-0) has three games schedule this weekend against Elko, Fallon and Yerington in tournament play.
