Around 200 teddy bears were delivered to Carson Valley Health for children, adults and seniors in local hospitals and care settings.
Organized by Valage Senior Living at Carson Valley and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada, the teddy bears were personalized by 15 young volunteers from the Boys & Girls Club, who handwrote name tags to add a personal touch.
Valage Senior Living created the program as part of their mission to give back to the Minden community and foster meaningful connections ahead of their official opening in Spring 2025, officials said.
Partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada and local hospitals, Valage’s goal is to bring comfort and joy to children, adults, and seniors in care settings.
“The kids from the Boys & Girls Club have been an incredible part of this effort – adding their personal touch by handwriting tags for the teddy bears,” said Valage Senior Living at Carson Valley Executive Director Tamra Tsanos. “This partnership marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between Valage and the Boys & Girls Club, as intergenerational programs will be a cornerstone of Valage’s monthly activities when the community opens. These programs will include regular events and shared projects designed to connect youth and seniors in meaningful ways.”
Valage delivered teddy bears to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center on Dec. 11 and will made their final delivery to Barton Health.
