On 12/19/2024, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners INTRODUCED the following ordinance:
ORDINANCE: 2024-1645
TITLE: An Ordinance amending various chapters of Title 20 of the Douglas County Code in order to implement the requirements of NRS 278.253, by: (a) designating zoning districts in which a tiny house may be located and classified as an accessory dwelling unit; and (b) designating zoning districts in which a tiny house is allowed to be located and classified as a single-family residential unit.
SUMMARY: Ordinance 2024-1645, a Zoning Text Amendment (ref. DP 24-0224), amending various chapters of Title 20 of the Douglas County Code in order to implement tiny houses per Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 278.253, by: (a) designating zoning districts in which a tiny house may be located and classified as an accessory dwelling unit; and (b) designating zoning districts in which a tiny house is allowed to be located and classified as a single-family residential unit.
The 2nd Reading of this Ordinance will be held on 1/16/2025. A copy of this ordinance is on file in the Clerk’s Office for public review.
