Genoa, Nev. — An estimated 100 people turned out Monday’s to meet the two Douglas County school superintendent candidates. School Board trustees meet 4-7 p.m. today to possibly make a decision.
It’s Election Day for the Presidential Preference Primary, which for Republicans doesn’t mean much, since they’re caucusing on Thursday, instead. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the county’s community centers and the Indian Hills GID offices. I don’t expect results until late tonight or even Wednesday.
Priority projects in Gardnerville’s capital improvement plan include repaving Industrial Way and finishing Gardnerville Station. The town is seeking grants to help fund both projects. The town board meets 4:30 p.m. at 1407 Main St.
Capital improvements area also on the agenda for the Airport Advisory Committee, which meets 6 p.m. at the Civil Air Patrol building 1144 Airport Road at Minden Tahoe Airport.
Over in Gardnerville, Parks & Recreation Advisory Board members will be talking about projects, the budget and the strategic plan at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center, 1329 Waterloo Lane.
It’s snowing in Genoa this morning and up on Kingsbury. There were patches of white on Jacks Valley Road as I made my way in. I don’t expect it to accumulate much. There are no chain controls in effect in Douglas, but that could change during the day.
I suspect the current snowfall will account for the snow showers before 2 p.m. today before it could change to rain. Skies are forecast to be cloudy with a high of 40 degrees. Colder weather sets in tonight, with lows dropping into the teens.
