A Wednesday morning structure fire on Eagle Mountain Road left the home uninhabitable and resulted in a firefighter suffering from smoke inhalation.
East Fork firefighters responded 9:11 a.m. to find fire and smoke in the garage and the home evacuated, Battalion Chief Matt Kruse said.
Four engines, two rescue ambulances and two water tenders responded to the fire.
Mutual aid requests for district coverage were handled by Tahoe Douglas and Carson City firefighters.
“About half a dozen other emergency calls were handled by the mutual aid resources while the fire was being brought under control,” Kruse said.
The fire is under investigation.
