Genoa, Nev. — A vehicle slid off Highway 88 near Mackland, went through a fence around 6:40 a.m.. A sudden blast of cold air this morning caused slick conditions on highways across the county.


Slick conditions on Highway 395 through Bodie Flat may have contributed to a two vehicle collision around 5:45 a.m. today. Both drivers were out of the vehicles and ambulatory. The southbound lane was closed to clear the wreckage.


Chain controls are in in effect for Kingsbury Grade and Highway 50 at the Lake. I received a report that the run up 395 to Carson City might be a little slick, so take it easy.


 Snow telemetry for Heavenly Valley showed 21 inches of snow fell during the last 36 hours. Fredericksburg resident Jeff Garvin reported around 1.98 inches from the storm.


A reading workshop is 3:30-4:30 p.m. today at the Minden branch of the Douglas County Library, 1625 Library Lane. A second session will be May 14. at the Minden branch of the Douglas County Library, 1625 Library Lane.


We might see a little bit more precipitation this evening but nothing like the last two days. Today’s high temperature is predicted to hit 49 degrees with the wind out of the southwest at 5-10 mph.
