Tahoe Youth & Family Services currently has a trauma recovery grant from the U.S. Department of Education to provide youth with free counseling services to address their trauma associated with traumatic incidents.
The main objective of the grant is to provide mental health services to low-income students who have experienced trauma and are struggling academically.
Eligible students may include those with attendance problems, behavioral issues, or other academic challenges.
The program is open to all students enrolled in a Nevada public, charter, private school, or those who are homeschooled. Anyone, including parents, school counselors, or other agencies, can refer preschool, elementary, and secondary students for treatment services.
There are no restrictions on the source of referrals, as there is no wrong door. All qualified youth are eligible for free treatment services through the Trauma Recovery Grant.
In addition, Tahoe Youth & Family Services provides Individual and Group Counseling for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Tahoe Youth offers comprehensive Mental Health Assessments and Substance Abuse Evaluations.
