Genoa, Nev. — Today is the last day to provide feedback on the draft Douglas County strategic plan. You can look at the plan here and send feedback to CommunityRelationsPIO@douglasnv.us.


Mottsville Lane is scheduled to be closed between Highway 88 and Centerville again today due to unstable pavement, according to Douglas County.


The Bureau of Land Management is planning a prescribed burn of approximately 45 piles of woody debris on 12 acres of BLM administered lands in the Indian Creek Recreation area of Alpine County. The Zephyr Crew has been doing pile burning in the Carson Range for the last few days.


The Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council celebrates its 20th year supporting the Sheriff’s Office with a fundraising dinner and raffle items Saturday at the CVIC Hall.  I somehow got off a day in Wednesday’s calendar. If there are still tickets, you can buy them at Woodett’s Diner.


After rechecking Saturday’s events, I’ve confirmed that there is indeed a workday at Heritage Park Gardens 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and that the library’s showing “The Holdovers” at 10:30 a.m.


Tahoe Douglas medics responded to Heavenly Boulder for a skier with a head injury around 12:30 p.m. Thursday. People have been wearing helmets for most of the calls I’ve heard on the scanner, and that seems like a pretty good idea.


It sounds like it will be a fairly nice day with partly sunny skies and a high near 52 degrees. What wind there is will arrive out of the west this afternoon at 5 mph. We’ll top out at around 60 on Saturday before the next front arrives on
