Carson Valley Art Association is kicking off the season with a meet & greet 1 p.m. Saturday at Gadzooks Gallery, 1492 Main St., Unit 104, Gardnerville.
Coffee and cookies will be provided by members of the 56-year-old organization, founded in 1967.
Two spring workshops start with “Curves Ahead Bracelet” with Suzy Musil. She will be demonstrating and teaching making beaded bracelets 10 a.m. March 23 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville. This workshop includes all materials. The cost for members is $35; nonmember price is $65.
On 10 a.m. April 20 silk artist, Louise Noel will demonstrate and teach the realm of silk painting. At the end of the workshop participants will leave with a silk scarf and the materials and skill to make their own creations.
The cost for CVAA members is $120; nonmember price is $150 including all materials. This workshop will be at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville.
The association will host an Art for Charity 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 11 at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Main St., Gardnerville. Artists who participate will have their art for sale at lower than market value to benefit the Douglas County Historical Society Education Program, Douglas Animal Welfare Group and the Carson Valley Community Food Closet.
