Genoa, Nev. — Slick conditions contributed to a couple of collisions on Highway 395 on Sunday. With school returning from winter break today, expect buses to add to the traffic and watch out for students walking to school.
Chains or four-wheel drive with snow tires are being required on Highway 395 from the junction with 88 south to Topaz Lake. That’s more restrictions than over either Kingsbury or Spooner Summit. Traffic seems to be moving normally on the traffic camera at Highway 395 at Airport Road.
Genoa Historic District Commissioners are scheduled to discuss the possibility of combining with the Genoa Town Board at 5:30 p.m. today in the Genoa Town Hall.
Long and short-term goals for Minden-Tahoe Airport are on the agenda for the Airport Advisory Committee 6 p.m. today. The committee meets at the Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St.
Former Commission Chairman John Engels sent me a link to a video he produced on the last stage robbery that occurred in Jarbidge 107 years ago in December 1916. You can watch it at https://jarbridge.s3.amazonaws.com/Jarbridge.mp4
It was minus 4 at Minden-Tahoe Airport this morning, so bundle up. The good news is the forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 40 degrees, so that will warm the roads some. The breeze is out of the northeast at 5 mph.
