Genoa, Nev. — Tahoe Douglas medics received three calls to Sled Hill at Spooner Junction on Sunday afternoon, and at least two of those were for adults in their 30s and 40s.

A reported gas leak resulted in the evacuation of the Dollar General in the Gardnerville Ranchos around 11:24 a.m. There was a collision at Highway 395 and Buckeye Road in Minden around 5:40 p.m. I didn’t hear anyone transported for treatment, but it snarled the intersection for a bit.

The Martin Luther King Day holiday has local, state and federal offices closed today and school is out. The R-C will be open today.

All the outages from Saturday’s windstorm appear to have been cleared, according to NVenergy.com. Douglas was not a significant contributor to the more than 2,500 customers who lost power with maybe two dozen total.

For the first time in a while there are no chain controls at Lake Tahoe or in the Sierra and the roads are quiet as of 5 a.m. today, according to both the Nevada and California highway patrols.

Saturday was one of those warm storms that if we’d received a significant snowfall earlier in the year, would have caused some flooding.  Nothing record-setting, but I was surprised to find an inch of rain in my gauge.

Unlike the rest of the country, it looks like we’re in for a nice day. The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies gradually clearing with a high temperature of 46 degrees, and no wind for a change.
