Genoa, Nev. — The anticipated lawsuit against the county dealing with the ban on vacation home rentals north of Cave Rock was filed on Tuesday with the Douglas County Clerk-Treasurer’s Office. Plaintiffs are seeking judicial review of the Dec. 21 revision to the ordinance.
Besides conducting appointments today, county commissioners are scheduled to hear a presentation on the upcoming elections from Clerk-Treasurer Amy Burgans 10 a.m. today at the Douglas County Courthouse.

There was another report of a chimney fire, this time in Fish Springs near Juniper and Windmill around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday. Someone backed into a pedestrian in the parking garage at the Golden Nugget around 3:50 p.m. Wednesday. One person was transported for treatment.
A fairly spectacular sunrise this morning means we may see more stormy weather arriving Friday night. Nothing too extreme, as the first system splits as it arrives. The second one should turn up late Saturday between Lake Tahoe and Mammoth.
Today’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies, with the high temperature at 52 and the low down to 33 degrees. The wind is predicted to come out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.
