School district hires new transportation director

Douglas County School District announced the hiring of Blair Hinsz as the new Director of Transportation in a press release Jan. 18.

Hinsz is a Douglas High School graduate and began his career in transportation as a bus driver with the district. He rose from a driver to Transportation Coordinator and now the director.

“His rise throughout his career in transportation reflects his dedication and deep understanding of the district’s transportation needs,” said the press release.

Before joining DCSD, Blair managed his own landscaping business and contributed to organizations such as Big Brother Big Sister of Northern Nevada and Make-A-Wish Foundation. “His diverse experience and community service background are assets to our leadership team,” said the press release.

As the Director of Transportation, Hinsz is set to bring innovative solutions and continue the department legacy of excellence.

“We are confident in his ability to lead and improve our transportation services,” said the press release.
