Douglas County is accepting applications for the 2025 Community Development Block Grant Program Grant Cycle.

The public is invited to provide ideas and comments, and present potential projects.

An informational meeting will be conducted 11 a.m. July 26 on the third floor of the Minden Inn, 1594 Esmeralda Ave.

Community development block grants are a federal program administered by the state.

For the 2025 grant year, officials expect $2.8 million will be available statewide for community facilities, planning and capacity building, economic development, micro enterprise programs, low and moderate income development

Grants from the program helped renovate Gardnerville Station in the S-Curve for use as a visitors center, bringing it to the point where paving the parking lot is the last major improvement.

Complete grant applications must be submitted to the Community Development Department via ZoomGrants.com by Oct. 18 for the state office. Applications must be to Community Development by Feb. 7, 2025, with complete applications due two weeks later on Feb. 21.
