A rain squall doused Genoa on Sunday afternoon with reports of hail as thunderstorms crossed Carson Valley.
A flood advisory was issued at 4 p.m. Thursday after Doppler radar indicated heavy rain and minor flooding.
A National Weather Service gauge in Genoa indicated .43 inches of rain fell in 20 minutes at 5:20 p.m.
Temperatures fell from 94 to 71 degrees in Nevada’s oldest town.
Fredericksburg resident Jeff Garvin reported 98 lightning strikes and .14 inches of rain at his place, with some hail. The storm dropped temperatures from 103 to 73 degrees quickly.
A gauge in the Gardnerville Ranchos recorded .55 inches of rain.
The storm cell abated by the time it reached the county line.
