Stewart Title of Northern Nevada made a splash Friday in raising $3,269 during their Dunk for Charity event.
Stewart Title Branch Manager Brandi Alley said they try to support and raise money with an event for a non-profit once a year. This year, Suicide Prevention Network was the non-profit of choice.
“By supporting the Suicide Prevention Network this year, we hoped to raise not only funds, but also awareness about mental health and the importance of suicide prevention,” said Alley. “We believe together we can make a positive difference and contribute to a future where fewer individuals feel isolated and hopeless.”
The Suicide Prevention Network provides awareness, support, and intervention through educational services and programs.
Suicide Prevention Network Program Coordinator Stephanie Nicoletti said the event will help fund many opportunities within the network.
“The smallest contribution goes a long way,” she said. “By helping us, we are able to help the community and the world. We appreciate all of the volunteers, dunkers, dunkees, and Stewart Title of Northern Nevada, for donating their time and money for an amazing cause.”
During the event, 15 “dunkies” from throughout the community were dunked into ice cold water every 20 minutes, Alley, 20/30 Club’s Robbie Boulais, Danny Villalobos of Coldwell Banker Select, Battle Born Wine’s Troy Phillips, Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley, and more.
“It was a nice day for a dunk and of course for a great cause,” said Coverley.
Alley said the event was a success and thanked the community and all involved in the event for contributing.
“It was really nice to see all parts of our community come together to bring their family and friends in for a ‘splashing’ good time,” she said.
