Storytime at the Minden Library will begin incorporating science, technology, engineering, art, and math with themed read-aloud books and activities starting Aug. 15.
STEAM Storytime is intended for children ages 3–6 years old and will recur every Thursday from 10:30–11 a.m.
“This special Storytime will use Preschool STEAM activities to create a fun and hands-on way to challenge children’s thinking and problem-solving skills,” librarians said. “These activities help promote essential 21st-century skills, which are important in preparing children for an unknown future. Through the process of experimenting and exploring, children are using creative and critical thinking skills. The activity’s final product is not as important as the process.”
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Douglas County Public Library.
