Minden’s National Night out returns to the Ironwood Shopping Center 4- 8 p.m. Aug. 2 for the third consecutive year.

Coordinated by Two Stone Slab & Tile, the event encourages neighbors, businesses, and law enforcement to come together in a positive setting to build relationships in the community.

Ironwood 8 Cinema owner Russ Levison spearheaded the idea of the event in 2022 after experiencing a similar event when he lived in New York.

After realizing the space in the shopping center would accommodate a large crowd, Levison worked with businesses around the area to organize the event and that’s when Jonelle Spafford, manager at Two Stone Slab & Tile, ran with the idea and made the event into what it is today with entertainment, food trucks and vendors, raffle prizes, and fun for the community, including a free movie at the Carson Valley Cinema.

Local law, fire and National Guard representatives will have equipment out for the community to explore.

All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Sheriff’s Advisory Council.
