Genoa, Nev. — Gardnerville Town Board members will say farewell to former Board Member Mike Henningsen with a proclamation at their meeting 4:30 p.m. today. They’ll also talk about how they want to appoint a new member. The town board meets at 1407 Main St.
Highway 395 work is expected to hit a crescendo and then conclude for a bit for Carson Valley Days weekend, I learned on Monday. That will be a brief respite before they start digging up the pavement starting June 10.
If you’re planning on using that ballot you received in the mail, best to get it in early, either by dropping it in the mailbox or at one of the roving polling places, or the big red, white and blue tent behind the Courthouse.
You can also take your mailed ballot to the Douglas County Community & Senior Center but at that point you could just use one of the election machines. Today the roving box will be at the Fish Springs Fire Station 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and in Topaz Ranch Estates Community Center 3-6 p.m.
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee is taking a field trip to the 2-year-old Rafter 3C Arena in Fallon 10 a.m. today. The arena is located at the Churchill County Fairgrounds.
Members of the Airport Advisory Committee will discuss the use of $59,000 Minden Tahoe Airport received from the American Rescue Plan Act and distributed by the FAA District Office. They meet 6 p.m. at the Civil Air Patrol building, 1144 Airport Road.

The forecast high temperatures are dropping a couple of degrees with 85 degrees today and 93 degrees on Wednesday. It’s going to be sunny and warm with a light breeze 5 mph in the afternoon.
