The nonprofit Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch has received a $25,000 donation to the endowment fund that supports historic restoration and preservation at Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park. The confidential donor also challenged others in the community to help the fund continue to grow by collectively contributing another $25,000.
The Dangberg Home Ranch Endowment Fund has grown from an initial donation of $10,000, made in 2016, to just over $228,000. The fund is owned and managed by Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax ID 88-0370179.
“We’re always so glad to see such generosity,” said Mark Jensen, executive director of Friends of Dangberg. “The goal is to increase the endowment fund’s balance to $1.5 million as soon as possible, and this donation is a big step. We know the fund will keep growing with the community’s help.
All donations are invested and the return solely benefits Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch. Donations can be made in several ways:
• Give online at NevadaFund.org. Click the “Donate” button and search for Dangberg’s fund in the list. Then, follow the instructions to give by credit card. Service fees apply.
• Give by check. Make checks payable to “Community Foundation of Northern Nevada,” write “Dangberg Home Ranch” on the memo line and mail the donation to: Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, Attn: Lyndsey Crossley, 50 Washington Street Suite 300, Reno, NV 89503.
• Donate assets or real estate. If you would like to explore these or other ways to help build the endowment, contact Lyndsey Crossley, the dedicated fund advisor, at 775-333-5499 or lcrossley@nevadafund.org.
Donations will join a future $50,000 gift from Park Cattle Co., pledged as the match for donations supporting restoration work made during a successful fundraising campaign in 2020. Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
