Heidi Saucedo, marketing manager at Carson Valley Health and Minden Rotarian by day, got to find out how fun it is to practice her dance moves at night.

And in so doing, she raised money to support Suicide Prevention’s sold-out “Gotta Dance” fundraiser this past April at the Douglas County Community Center.

Heidi and her partner Oliver Adams, practiced for an hour twice a week for over two months together in addition to countless hours solo. She participated in four additional practices for a group intro dance piece with the other nine dance partners. When asked if she regularly dances outside of this event, Heidi indicated no but she’d love to.

Dressed as troll dolls, Heidi and Oliver dazzled the crowd with their dance to the upbeat “Can’t Stop the Feeling” by Justin Timberlake. Competition results ended in a five-way tie for second place with the tie breaker going to the dance pair that raised the most money. Heidi earned first in fundraising and broke the tie for second place.

The Rotary Club of Minden meets 11:30 to 1 p.m. every Thursday at the COD Casino
