Around three-dozen outages briefly affected more than 3,000 NV Energy customers on Wednesday afternoon.

According to NVenergy.com, the more widespread outages began around 3:43 p.m.

They were followed by an outage that affected 861 power company customers at 4:40 p.m. due to a failed underground cable.

The cable was isolated, and power restored at 7:26 p.m., according to spokeswoman Meghin Delaney.

An outage on Thursday morning affecting 66 customers occurred while workers made permanent repairs to the cable.

There is no indication any of the outages involved the reconstruction of Highway 395 through Gardnerville.
