Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch has joined with Astronomical Society of Nevada to invite elementary-aged youth and their families to a free afternoon exploring the wonders of the sun 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park.

The event includes several activities to help children learn about our closest star, including observing the sun through special telescopes, making pinhole cameras, and completing sun-related arts and crafts projects.

Everyone is welcome at the event and reservations are not needed. The park is located at 1450 Hwy 88, just south of the roundabout at County Road. More information is available at education@dangberg.org or 775-783-9417.

Education programs at Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park are sponsored by Douglas County, Frances C. and William P. Smallwood Foundation, Minden Fortnightly Club, Carson Valley Lions Club, and John C. Fremont Chapter, DAR.
