Genoa, Nev. — The first concert in Minden Park of the summer starts at 6 p.m. today, featuring Sierra Roc and sponsored Starbucks Roasting Plant and Distribution Center. You will know concertgoers by their chairs waiting patiently in the park through the day.


The Last Friday Genoa Wine Walk is 5-8 p.m. today in Nevada’s oldest settlement. It’s going to be a quiet last weekend of June with Dangberg hosting historians talking about Frank Sinatra on Saturday and a solar viewing party on Sunday.


The Pulse Point app is reporting a structure fire in Ruhenstroth around 10:17 p.m. East Fork firefighters were there for around an hour, which tends to indicate it wasn’t too severe.  


A spate of three dozen brief outages on Wednesday afternoon transitioned into a longer, though smaller one, according to NVEnergy Spokeswoman Meghin Delaney. An underground cable failed requiring about three hours to fix, so no birds this time.


Might as well head to the video rental store because we’re going back to the 90s today with the forecast high of 91 degrees under sunny skies with the west wind 5-10 mph this afternoon.
