Genoa, Nev. — County commissioners asked staff to bring back a resolution on April 4 declining to take over the Topaz Ranch Estates General Improvement District Board after it got a pretty good review from former Chief Financial Officer Terri Willoughby.


A review of the draft Douglas County strategic plan took around three hours on Monday as commissioners edited the plan. I’ll follow up on that before it goes for final approval.


Members of the China Spring Youth Camp Advisory Board voted to recommend what they felt was the least damaging budget option at their meeting on Monday. County commissioners are scheduled to discuss that on Thursday.


The first day of road closures on Ironwood in Minden on Monday combined with state work on Highway 395 to back up traffic all the way to Lucerne during the evening commute.


According to NVroads.com, the northbound left turn lane and turn lanes between Muller Lane and Lucerne are closed 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Saturday, at least.


Spring doesn’t actually arrive in Carson Valley until 8:06 p.m., but the signs are everywhere. Today’s forecast is for sunny skies and a high near 67 with the wind dying down later this morning.
