The NIAA announced its decision to name Timothy Jackson as its next executive director Tuesday evening.
Jackson, a Bowling Green State University graduate, was selected during the Board of Control's quarterly meeting.
Jackson will replace current executive director Donnie Nelson, who will retire from the position June 1.
“I want to formally thank the NIAA Board of Control for this opportunity,” Jackson said in a press release. “I am very excited to begin working for the students of Nevada.”
Jackson was hired as the director of athletics for Clark County School District in April of 2019. Prior to that, he served as the athletic director at Durango High School.
He will become the NIAA's sixth executive director.
