Genoa, Nev. — On Wednesday, Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies and other law enforcement agencies participated in the Peace Officers Memorial Run from Las Vegas to Carson City. The Memorial ceremony is at the capital early this afternoon.

There’s a report of water over Mottsville Lane this morning, which shouldn’t be a surprise given the meltoff on the West Fork. Update: I drove Mottsville on my way in, and there's only a little water in the eastbound lanes. Driving the speed limit should be safe through there.
A zoning map and planned unit overlay for the Virginia Ranch project south of Toler Lane are up for discussion at today’s Douglas County commissioners meeting. Zoning for the proposed judicial center is also on the agenda today. Commissioners meet 10 a.m. in the historic Douglas County Courthouse.
The spring warm-cold cycle continues this weekend with the forecast high temperature dropping a dozen degrees between Friday and Saturday.
