A half-dozen superintendent candidates are listed with the board agenda at the Douglas County School Board site this morning. A quick scan shows two current Nevadans but no internal district candidates. Reporter Sarah Drinkwine will be sorting all that today. The meeting isn’t until May 21.
There was a truck rollover on Highway 395 in the Pinenuts near Double Spring Flat around midnight. The vehicle was still there this morning, according to the radio. Another rollover in the southbound lanes of Highway 395 just north of Plymouth occurred 7:15 a.m. Tuesday.
The website has been as buggy as an outhouse rat over the last few days due to a backend issue that requires moving servers. Whether it has been available has been hit or miss, so my advice is to give it a bit and try again. That’s what I’ve been doing.
Minden’s Sixth Street was busy on Tuesday with tree workers on one end and the folks rebuilding the Minden pillars on the other. The pillars are close to their former height. The tree, not so much.
A cattle drive along Genoa Lane slowed down a lot of us on our morning commute. The mama cows were helping to guide their calves around the cars as they headed west to a new pasture.
The first Wind Down Wednesday is in Gardnerville’s Heritage Park 4-8 p.m. today. Douglas County Animal Services will be there, according to CV Flyte’s social media.
Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high temperature around 59 degrees, with wind picking up out of the northeast at 10-15 mph later this morning. The warm-up begins Thursday with highs hitting the 80s by Sunday.
