The Kids & Horses 11th annual Golf Tournament takes place June 9 at the Incline Village Championship Golf Course, 955 Fairway Boulevard. The game tees off with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Golfers and guests can enjoy a dinner at 6 p.m. followed by an auction and raffle at 6:30.
A number of contests are offered throughout the course, including Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Beat the Pro. Top contenders will each win a prize.

The mission of Kids & Horses is “To enhance the lives of children and adults with disabilities in Northern Nevada and California through the use of equine assisted services” (kidsandhorses.org). Proceeds from the event support the upkeep and maintenance of the facility and its herd, and enables the organization to provide their programs and services for little to no cost to participants.
Douglas Disposal hosts spring clean up week
Douglas Disposal’s spring clean up week takes place May 20-24 for active weekly residential customers in Nevada. Place up to six 32-gallon cans (max. weight 50 pounds) and/or bags (max. weight 35 pounds) roadside on the regular pickup day for no extra charge. One-foot by three-foot tied bundles will also be accepted.
Appliances, computers, furniture, hazardous materials, tires, and TVs are not included in this offer.
