Genoa, Nev. — Ukiah Unified Assistant Superintendent Angelo Alvarado came in with the high score of 90 at Tuesday’s school board meeting, according to R-C reporter Sarah Drinkwine. Interviews were scheduled for the next board meeting on June 11. Meet and greets will be held on June 10.


Five of the six school board trustee candidates will be at the Town Hall Debates tonight. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the trouble starting at 6. Oh, and the six active county commissioner candidates on the primary ballot will be there, too. The debate is at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center in Gardnerville.


Today’s edition of The Record-Courier includes the primary election guide and three pages of letters to the editor. With early in-person voting starting Saturday and voters already dropping off or mailing ballots, the party has truly started.


Vacation Home Rental Advisory Board members will hear an update on the code and Lincoln Park 1 p.m. today at Kahle Community Center. The only action item on the agenda is to pick someone to run the meeting, if I’m reading that right.


The Vietnam Moving Wall is expected to arrive in Minden at some point today, staging at the Carson Valley Inn before the formal escort on Thursday.


The forecast calls for sunny skies, with a high temperature of 75 degrees, and the wind out of the west at 15-20 mph, gusting to 30 mph. There’s an actual snow level of 7,500 feet on Thursday night, but no forecast freeze in the Valley.
