Two Carson Valley residents were killed five days apart in October in separate collisions, the Nevada State Police reported on Monday.
An Oct. 24 crash at Interstate 580 and East Lake Boulevard claimed the life of Minden resident Patrick Pearson.
The 66-year-old was driving a 2007 GMC Yukon south on the freeway at around 11:30 a.m. when it entered the paved right shoulder and struck a concrete barrier multiple times before coming to rest 4,500 feet south of where it first hit.
An 18-year-old Gardnerville man was killed in an Oct. 19 early morning crash at Interstate 80 and Robb Drive, according to the State Police..
Ezra Galvez was traveling the wrong way in the westbound lanes of the Interstate when his 2007 Jeep Liberty collided head-on with a semi, setting it on fire. Galvez was declared dead at the scene.
As of Monday, the Highway Patrol Northern Command has investigated 27 fatal collisions resulting in 30 fatalities. One of those has occurred in Douglas County when 19-year-old Jackson Andrew Watts of Gardnerville was killed on Jacks Valley Road near Bavarian Drive in March.
