-->Genoa, Nev. — As of this morning, turnout in Douglas County is reported to be 74.06 percent on the Secretary of State’s web site, with 4,028 voters turning out on Election Day. There are still votes to be counted in the 2024 General Election but there’s no reason to expect any major swings in the local results.
Statewide results are available at silverstateelection.nv.gov where it says 62.12 percent of voters cast a ballot. A quick review of the individual counties shows Douglas is barely in the top 10 turnouts. I’m hoping that increases over the next few days.
Gardnerville Town Board members passed the first reading of a 35-percent trash rate increase. Town Manager Erik Nilssen said the increase will keep the town’s trash service solvent for the next four years.

It’s not as cold as advertised in most places this morning, though Minden-Tahoe Airport is showing 18 degrees. Genoa is reading 30 degrees, so that’s a big range.
