Genoa, Nev. — Today is the last day voters can cure their signature on a ballot. Voters can go to Cure.NV.gov to cure their ballot or visit the Election Office in the historic Douglas County Courthouse in Minden. Visit govotedouglas.com for a list of voters requiring cures.


Douglas County School Board Trustees will receive training on Nevada’s open records law from the Attorney General’s Office at their 4 p.m. meeting today. The board’s meeting at the Airport Training Center’s Building G-1.


The building at 2285 Main St. is seeking to replace its wood balusters with black metal at the Genoa Historic District Commission meeting 4:30 p.m. today in the town meeting room. Building occupant Flutter and Buzz Café opened over the weekend.


Sheridan had a 60 mph wind gust at around 10:50 a.m. Monday as a quick storm blasted through Western Nevada. It started snowing on Kingsbury and by 2:15 p.m. the first of several spin-outs and minor collisions had rendered the highway impassable.


Not to be left out, Spooner Summit had chain controls in effect on Monday afternoon and several collisions and spinouts, too. This is the second storm this season to have caught motorists off guard.


A wind advisory has been issued for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, something that didn’t happen for Monday. The National Weather Service is predicting 60 mph southwest winds, as yet another front arrives in Western Nevada.


The high temperature is forecast to go to 50 degrees under sunny skies today with the wind relatively calm.
