Minden artist Don Fotine took Best of Show at the 2024 Carson Valley Art Association Scholarship Show.
Fotine has been painting professionally since 1970, but started his fine art efforts when he moved to Minden in 1990.
Fotine is coming off a Best of Show win at the Nevada Artists Association Winter Show in Carson City with his work, “Winter’s Quiet Voice.”
Over the weekend, Fotine’s “Stealing Fire From Heaven” was chosen for the top prize.
The Art Association was formed in 1967, according to The Record-Courier’s Dec. 7 edition.
