Probation granted in $2,000 hotel bill skip

A woman who didn’t pay while staying at Lake Tahoe hotels was granted a suspended sentence on Monday.

Stacie Renee Gonzales, 49, was arrested after staying at the Harvey’s and Harrah’s casinos at Stateline and failing to pay. According to court documents, she had accumulated more than $2,000 in food, lodging and merchandise.

She is currently on probation for a case in Washoe County and Eldorado County.

She was sentenced to a suspended 12-30 months in prison which is to run consecutive with the Washoe and Eldorado cases. 

• One of the four men arrested in a countywide E-bike theft was granted probation Monday.

Jesus Garcia, 38, was arrested with Victor Anguiano, Emmanuel Villagomez-Morales, and Angel Ruiz Arroyo on May 26, though he was not charged in the thefts.

Garcia admitted to possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to suspended 12-30 months in prison and given credit for 12 days in custody.

A $25,000 warrant was issued last week for Anguiano’s arrest after he failed to appear in district court.

Ruiz Arroyo was sentenced to a suspended 13-36-prison term.

• A warrant was issued for Tara Brooks Ellis-Goff for failure to appear in court on Monday.

Ellis-Goff, 54, was arrested July 25 in possession of methamphetamine.

She had been out of prison for less than a year after she was sentenced to 1-3 years.


The warrant is in the amount of $5,000 cash only extradited to Nevada and California.

• A warrant was issued for Kenneth Avery Haines, 40, for failure to appear for his sentencing on Monday.

 •A man found in possession of a firearm and methamphetamine faces up to five years in prison if he fails probation.

Amos Mason Reschman, 50, was arrested Oct. 1 in possession of an American Bulldog .32 caliber pistol, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and 2 grams of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Reschman has a prior domestic violence charge and is prohibited from carrying a firearm.

He was sentenced to 12-30 months each, which was suspended not to exceed 18 months. He was given credit for 86 days.
