A 52-year-old man serving a 5-15-year prison term as the result of a Carson City robbery waived his preliminary hearing on Friday.

Rudolph Cesario Ramirez, 52, appeared in East Fork Justice Court on Friday.

Ramirez’ attorney, Matthew Stermitz said Ramirez will face a charge of attempted possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, which is a C felony.

• A man who bypassed security at the Painted Rock Mine claimed he was just fetching his dog when deputies pulled him out of his vehicle on Nov. 14.

When deputies contacted him he refused to get out of the vehicle, Steve Jon Hipple, 56, said on a Next Door Post.

“They came up to my door and opened it and told me to get out,” Hipple said. “They repeatedly tazed me telling me to get out.”

Hipple appeared in East Fork Justice Court on Nov. 15 after being booked on three drug felonies, including trafficking, possession of more than 42 grams of a controlled substance and possession of less than 14 grams.

He also faces a trespassing and obstructing charge, according to jail records.

Deputy District Attorney Jim Sibley said Hipple trespassed after bypassing security and confirmed deputies tazed Hipple.

According to Sibley, Hipple was found with methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms when he was arrested.

Attorney Matthew Stermitz sought a bail reduction from $10,000 and Sibley was amenable to $5,000 cash or bond, which East Fork Justice of the Peace Paul Gilbert ordered.

Hipple was released on bail and given a Dec. 23 court date to return. No charging document has been filed in his case as of Thursday, according to the court clerk’s office.

According to the Nevada Department of Corrections, Hipple has been incarcerated on charges of attempted theft and possession of stolen property back in 2006 and 2007.
