On 11/21/2024, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners INTRODUCED the following oridinance:
ORDINANCE: 2024-1647
TITLE: Ordinance 2024-1647, amending Douglas County Code Chapter 3.50, to increase the 9-1-1 surcharge from seventy-five cents ($0.75) to one dollar ($1.00) per month per line or number, and to reduce the limit on the uncommitted balance in the 9-1-1 surcharge special revenue fund from $1,000,000 to $500.000.
SUMMARY: An ordinance amending Douglas County Code Chapter 3.50, increasing the 9-1-1 surcharge from seventy-five cents ($0.75) to one dollar ($1.00) per month per line or number, and reducing the limit on the uncommitted balance in the 9-1-1 surcharge special revenue fund from $1,000,000 to $500,000, consistent with revisions to NRS 244A.7645(8). The 9-1-1 surcharge is used for the enhancement or improvement of the telephone system for reporting emergencies in Douglas County.
The 2nd Reading of this Ordinance will be held on 2/6/2025. A copy of this ordinance is on file in the Clerk’s Office for public review.
