Minden’s Nevada Dance Company presents its 35th annual production of “The Nutcracker” Friday through Sunday at the Carson City Community Center.
This year’s production brings together six professional dancers and 80 young performers from Douglas County, Carson City, Reno, and Lake Tahoe, providing local youth the chance to perform alongside professional artists.
Set against Tchaikovsky’s score, this classic ballet is conducted every year under the guidance of artistic directors Erica and Oliver Adams.
Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Nevada Dance Company welcomes a lineup of professional guest artists, including Isabella Velasquez and Victor Maguad from the Sacramento Ballet as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.
Professional dancers Erica Chipp-Adams and Oliver Adams will debut a brand-new version of the Arabian duet.
Alexander Cain Biber will perform as Drosselmyer while Kelsey Gerber will take the stage as the Chinese Soloist.
This year, Nevada Dance Company also celebrates Carson City resident Gail Ruff, performing in her 35th consecutive production of The Nutcracker. Ruff plays the role of the Grandmother.
