Douglas County Sheriff's patrol vehicles closed off a portion of Mary Jo Drive in the Gardnerville Ranchos on Friday morning to investigate the death of a man whose body was found along the street.

Douglas County investigators canvassed a neighborhood in the southern portion of the Gardnerville Ranchos in an effort to trace the last steps of an elderly man who was found dead along a road early this morning.
Douglas County Dispatch received a call around 5:35 a.m. for a report of a man down in the 1300 block of Mary Jo Drive just west of Long Valley Road.
The road was closed on either side of where the man was found.
No identity or cause of death for the man had been released as of 8:30 a.m. Friday.
