TIGER GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY 2ND, BOYS 9TH AT REED INVITE
Douglas girls cross country finished in front of the two-time state champs this past weekend at the Reed Invitational.
As a team, the Douglas girls were second overall with 62 team points, finishing in front of the Carson girls (75), who were third.
Junior Lucy Nord was third as an individual with a time of 20:49 out of the 80-person field.
Freshman Krystle Dixon took ninth in 22:01 for the Tigers while sophomore Amy Van Wagenen was 16th in 22:50.
Junior Logan Axtell was 19th overall for Douglas in 23:02.
Freshman Taylor Chase crossed the line in 27th for the Tigers in 23:55 while senior Ayla Nelson was the next Tiger across the line in 24:38.
Kira Northcutt was the final Douglas runner to finish, taking 68th in 27:35.
On the boys side, Douglas completed the event in ninth place.
Senior Luke Davis was 11th overall in 18:29 while senior Sage Spencer was 49th in 20:36.
Freshman Colin Hatcher (63rd) and sophomore Nathaniel Blair (72nd) finished their races in 21:17 and 21:51, respectively.
Kyndall McGuire (22:42), Gabriel Barrington (23:25) and Wyatt Ervin (23:30) were the final Tigers to cross the line.
UP NEXT: Douglas returns to action Oct. 18 in the Chase Race put on by North Valleys High School.

Douglas volleyball bested Bear Creek, 2-0, over the weekend while falling to Elk Grove, 2-0.

The Douglas girls soccer team suffered its second loss to Galena this season, falling 6-1 on Saturday in Minden.
