Genoa, Nev. — The livestream for the Town Hall Debate abruptly ended at 8:05 p.m. in the middle of the school board candidates. I’m tracking down what happened with that this morning. A streaming software update prompted a last-minute link change in the hour before the event.

There was a good crowd in the Douglas County Community & Senior Center on Wednesday night. I’m told they wrapped up around 8:35 p.m. Videographer Brian Kulpa said that he was recording, too, so I’ll post that link as soon as it becomes available.

According to Clerk-Treasurer Amy Burgans, ballots are going into the mail today, so folks should anticipate getting those over the next week. If you received the several election-related mail pieces, you should get a ballot. Email elections@douglasnv.us for questions or more information.

An agricultural burn off Highway 88 south of Mottsville that prompted a fire response around lunch time was still generating smoke around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Firefighters said the burn was well attended when they checked at 12:34 p.m.

Seasonal open burning starts Monday, according to East Fork Fire Marshal Amy Ray. While agricultural burns occur through the year, residents with more limited acreage may only burn in the fall and spring.

Tonight's portrayal of "Dark Twain" by Lars Hanson at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center has been postponed to Nov. 14. Information, 775-782-2555.

In space news, NASA is forecasting the possibility a G4 solar storm that is anticipated to arrive today. The view line barely touches the Nevada-Idaho-Utah junction, but who knows what you might find in the sky tonight. Visit www.swpc.noaa.gov for more information.

Down here on the planet, the forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 82 degrees with the wind out of the west at 5-10 mph in the afternoon.
