An outdoor festival permit is being sought by the Trump 47 Committee for the weekend before the Nov. 5 General Election.

Called the Remarks from Minden Nevada, the event application on Douglas County commissioners’ Thursday agenda indicates only that it “will be a rally style event featuring special guest speakers,” and will draw more than 10,000 people.

The event would close the airport for that weekend, especially if one of those guest speakers was former President Trump.

The former President was in Reno on Friday talking to a capacity crowd at the Grand Sierra Resort, according to various news reports.

Trump has been to Minden-Tahoe Airport twice over the last few years, holding a pre-campaign rally Sept. 12, 2020, and again on Oct. 8, 2022.

In 2020, the campaign switched to Minden after being refused a venue in Reno due to the coronavirus outbreak.
