Genoa, Nev. — District Judge Tom Gregory issued his ruling on a Nevada Public Records Act lawsuit late last week. From my reading, he’s ordering the school board trustees and the district to pay plaintiffs’ costs but there’s no statutory authority to assess a civil penalty.

R-C Staff Writer Sarah Drinkwine will be working her way through the 41-page ruling today and will have a more comprehensive report online as soon as it’s ready.

The Good Governance Group is hosting presentations school board candidates noon today at the COD Casino. Antoinette Casselberry and Doug Englekirk are first up, with Erinn Miller and Melinda Gneiting at 12:50 p.m. Cost $5, includes beverage. Information, 775-265-0267.

A proposed wage range of $172,997-$211,885 is being proposed for a new East Fork Fire chief, according to an item appearing on the today’s East Fork Fire Protection District 1 p.m. agenda. Trustees will also discuss revisions to the chief’s job description. They meet at the district office, 1694 County Road.

The grand opening for the Douglas County Library’s Story Walk is 11 a.m. today at Lampe Park near the playground.

From the forecast it appears today will be the week’s last nice one with a forecast high temperature of 81 degrees and a light breeze picking up to 5-10 mph in the afternoon.
